This is a major breakthrough I believe, and hopefully means I will bring the book to a state that it can be sent to publishers. My Miss Lolly is featured in a manuscript I've been writing and rewriting for quite a long time. We would sometimes go down to the beach for the day, and I remember the heat from those seats toasting my sunburned little backside on the drive home, while music blared from the radio. It was the name of my mom's best friend, a larger than life (to me at least) extroverted gal who wore big sunglasses and scarves, loved to laugh, and drove an enormous black convertible Cadillac. I've loved the name Lolly since I was a kid. See, I finally bought myself one of these, although I am too intimidated to try making anything on it yet.
However, I may have to give in to the urge to sew a fabric version as well. but oddly enough without the actual sewing part. Miss Zoe was a step in the right direction, but I really craved the busy patterns, the mixing of color, design, everything that makes sewing so much fun.
